As Senator, I have drafted several animal protection bills that were signed dinto law, including SB1500 that prevents neglected and injured animals from being returned to abusive owners. My firm belief is that all of us should protect homeless animals that have no voice. With appreciation for the ongoing work done by OBOL, Laura Marlowe, our shelters and Animal Control Agencies, I strongly support the “We Dream of Justice Too, the anti-cruelty campaign and encourage you to display the poster at your facility.
Senator Ted Lieu, 28th District CA.
Thank you Operation Blankets of Love for helping to make the Puppylooza Adoption Event at San Bernadino City Shelter a success today, by donating lots of sample bags and cans of cat and dog food for the new adopters and their new family members. It helped benefit at least 15 new furry family members and other families in need. This is not a wealthy area of SoCal so these adopters and families were very appreciative!
"Our goal is to provide the best possible care for each animal and ultimately place them into new and loving homes. Operation Blankets of Love has become an important part of our success in reaching our goal. Our animals are more comfortable and feel better; this of course makes them more adoptable. No longer do our geriatric animals have to lie on cold concrete....Our puppies and kittens have blankets and bedding to snuggle and lay in and our sick and injured animals have soft, comfortable blankets and towels to help soothe them to speedy recovery."

"Thank you for giving so tirelessly to the rescue effort. It's funny, who would think a blanket or bed could make a difference to these dogs? But, I promise you, when we bring fresh blankies out...these giant breed dogs RUN into their houses, literally. It's like a special treat for them. When we can't give them a home just yet, we can give them comfort, love and attention. Sometimes, it's enough."

“When we got back after our "haul" Sgt. Pepper and Lovey got adopted and they went home with wonderfully smelling blankets. All 100 Bassets loved their new blankets...Garth Barkes, one of our basset hounds was in heaven on his new blanket. You are incredibly generous and very big-hearted humans."
Carol, Dawn, Keche, and Critters,

"Saw a cat get adopted because the people stopped to admire the comforter she was hiding under! I saw cats, spitting and hissing, candidates for euthanasia relax and knead their beds, purring happily. The beds were enough to take the edge off and allow them to let their guard down so that caring humans could work with them to make them adoptable - and they were saved.
Operation Blankets of Love is a way of giving them that advantage. It impacts positively on them in so many ways and increases their chances of getting adopted.

“Now that we have somewhere warm to nuzzle our wet noses.
Your gift of sheets and blankets
Are worth more than a bouquet of a dozen roses.
Me and my canine companions can only wish and hope
That more generosity from the kind public
Will keep the donations of blankets and sheets afloat!
So with all this done and said;
The South LA kitties and doggies
Would like to thank you very much
For giving them a warm place to rest their furry heads!!”
